Wafting over years and years
Constant beat of Latin salsa
Early rhythms...Cuban waltzes
Congas beat... forever bounce
Hips rotating...ruffled flounce
Rainbow colors...dig the beat
Skins all dark from Latin heat
Passions move swing and sway
Sombas touch as fingers play
Airwaved music floating free
Through the years for me and thee
Clutching time in even beat
Kicking heels up in the street
Laughter looming over flowers
Knitted hairpiece tongues devour
Hydrangas tucked in bosoms fire
Deeper form... the loins desire
Appendages flail through the air
Rounded beating dierrieres
Trots of feet as ankles hop
Jumping to this Latin bop
Grinding bodies touching grasping
Music flowing kisses flashing
Passions faster with each turn
Burning searching churn to churn
History making music classics
Listening dancing...mirrored magic

Expressive dance is soooooooo beautiful. Full of life and unafraid to be seen. Wow, you described it to 'T' in your verse. Good day to you dear one. :)
Passion for life, well the very heartbeat of life is what Latin rhythms express. Mixed with African influences they've become a spiritual entity whose influence spans the globe. I can dig it and do! Great write, Susan!

I love most things Latin...and this poem expresses a rythym and feeling that is very "familiar" to my senses.

How'd I miss this one? Must have been blinded by the night. . . Carnival night, that is. I just love those hydrangas tucked in all those luscious bosoms, (among another thing or two).
Sister you got the beat! I love it, have done a few poems on the latin dance myself and we both have that appreciation for it I can see! Fantastic poem Susan, you have my fingers dancing and when I'm through I'll do it with my feet;-) hahahaha olay!!!

I love the canavals of Rio Brazil.. I love the latin rythums..Having lived in California so long I was very into the salsa scene..
