Rebellions of the soul at times can cause this one to shift
Emotions from a lighter side into a make-do drift
The side of me that causes woe unto the hollow souls
Of those that haven't got the guts to try to grasp the goals
Or bat the spiral of life's paths and swing at best her smiles
Then slide to home with torn up knees and stand to wipe the miles
From skint-up elbows to clayed up seats that sit and rise to run
To round the bases of life's paths and wipe the tears for fun
Then wash away the emptiness and start the path renewed
Retain the scars that dot the heart then act as if they flew
To distant places where life's woes go to keep in deep
The burdens that draw up the past when nightmares walk in sleep
We trace our life in angers grief and smiles that wear a grin
Then keep the faces of the day while scars are kept within
Condition walks when stitched in line and formed then tied in knots
When life is bought and etched in tune to when and where and what
For souls that can and will and do redeem and give new birth
To time spent here...for all it's scars...for life and all it's worth
You have developed a resilience and philosophy, that is well suited to 21 st Century living, the innate ability to absorb life's blows and pressures, and to be able to assimilate the lessons and experiences, garnered on the way, and put them to good use.
