"You can't get home if you don't take your foot off of third base."
"Write a poem about me," he asked...
Gentleman caller...offering a task
Perhaps a sonnet or Haiku...
Would do
Maybe of passion
In color...no blue
Cobalt the color of a colder climate
Won't work for him
He's a Libre ..no doubting
I know...
I'll pen the simplest of fate
Your bases are loaded
Now walk to the plate
"Batter up", with eyes squinched tight
He swings with such power
It's G_O_N_E
Out of sight!
Yes!
And you are 'Out of sight' as they say, loved this, Susan and it brought a much needed smile to me at this time, so Batter Up and what a piece, hope much to read more of you soon, somehow, oh Thank You for this and much more...
for now, love and peace to you,
me
Nothing is more rewarding to a person than to have something written about them. Especiallyy, is this true of one who admires the writer. Yes, all the bases were loaded here, when Susan hit a well pitched one ..... outta de old ball paaaark! ! !
Excellant write and fine tribute to your friend. He, I know I would be, must be thrilled with this analogy. You pride in him and his strength show through especially in the last line, and I love the graphic.
