The nights are long and you search the streets
Never the equal of you to meet
A little is here and a little is there
Not quite enough to completely compare
The ego of one with the Id of another
A desire to suck, to trap and to smother
For dreams that escape with the victim suspect
In a space of lost time where senses detect
A smile that's inviting, a sameness of heart
A face with my spirit , same shadow and sparks
Eyes that hold images locking with same
Passing in darkness he whispers my name
Scars with soft tissues bedded in souls
A heart reaching out to break your mold
Faces are masked and asking to dance
With a night showing promise
Passions with chance
As long as I'm walking
Each step on a stone
Streets full of people
In pairs or alone
Showing their love or blending in grays
When the sun hits the shadows
I've seen better days
Challenge is an issue for each fated step

For lust is one thing that passion can't hide
And if wishes were horses more fools would ride.
i stopped by to read yours yesterday and loved the voice of each line and the pace - a write that holds my focus and wants to be read again. I had trouble with one line only - Becomes progress in finding the Id with my depth - but reading again i think this was more to do with my username of LD, ld, littleditty on other sites!!!!, rather than the scan of your very interesting ending. If horses were wishes...i am still thinking about this since ysterday! - a poem to come back to - a very good one. Thank you! Nicky x
