In regressing here this evening
Thinking over days gone by
Living life with dignity
Taking stress in stride
I've found that unimportant things
Were given up to chance
For details are a memory
I settled for a slow dance
To taste the heady passions
To smell the blooming flowers
To climb a tree when I chose
Get soaked in April showers
To take a trip to Europe
Having never left my home
With a Gypsy spirit antsy
My curiousity roamed
I met the rich and famous
I felt the desert air
I tripped the light fantastic
Because I have no fear
In case you might be wondering
Why I took such chance
Those details now are memories
I opted for this slow dance
This was a BEAUTIFUL walk in time Susan!

Susan, this is a lovely poem and reflects your spirit of adventure and willingness to experience all that life has to offer on your own terms. A willingness to take chances is, I believe, an important element in writing good poetry. Great write!

Susan, it is so good to be home again and reading the passion of your writing, your heart as we have often discussed in past and mine have travelled many the same memories in the past. Loved it...I think the slow dance comes with age and wisdom, we learn to slow down and appreciate the things that we took for granted when we were young. Great write my friend, dance on!
