Pride

Susan

Pride can put out a fire
Suture shut a heart
Turn a blindside to love
End it all before it starts

Pride can disrupt a family
Start a war
Close all doors
Leave infinite scars

Pride is superb
When worn with grace
Alas tired and ugly
When dressed out-of-place

Worn on sleeves
Relished with smiles
But mean as Hell
When fading "in style"

Pride runs the gamut of selfishness
Making the points that hurt
Miscalculated words_just once
Can become a vicious flirt

Grace and pride
Worn with a smile
Can stretch the oceans
Conquer the miles

But pain and tears
Yes! Disbelief
Can come to those
That pride decieves.
