It drops like gentle snow on a warm sunny day.
A brief lingering moment then gone forever away.
The tighter held the faster gone.
The faster gone the tighter held.
Leaving only a clenching of fists over nothing.
Beyond all preservation it falls anew each day,
To be used and employed before it melts away.
Yesterday’s gone,
Tomorrow’s not come,
Today’s is all the Manna you’ll ever own.
And this Manna from Heaven, the stuff of life and of you,
Are but moments in time to be and to do.
But fleeting is this Manna’s call,
On good and bad, on one and all.
As the Lord judges on who it should forever fall.
So use wisely the Manna you have today,
It will not last, it will not stay.
And your Manna may not see tomorrow’s sun,
For we know not when our time is done,
To be judged worthy or not of the Manna to come.
