Seems in the street Everyone I meet Is doin' the old dog walk. More and more each day Shuffling away Doin' the old dog walk. Slack-eyed faces Plod-a-long paces Doin' the old dog walk. Old wizen grannies Young sweet nannies Doin' the old dog walk. Young wet-eared warriors Old querulous quarrelers Doin' the old dog walk. The slim and the hunky The petite and the chunky Doin' the old dog walk. All walking to the beat Seeing their future in the street Doin' the old dog walk Drifting lifeless oceans Just going through the motions Doin' the old dog walk. Masters of their fate Yet victims to the gait Doin' the old dog walk. Daily passing in the street The answer that they seek Doin' the old dog walk. Thoroughly enjoyed this, DJ!
Excellent descriptions, great rhythm, rhyme
and alliteration...
I especially chuckled at stanza 4, because I'm a granny,
but not wizened yet (at least I hope not, lol!).
Now I'm hummin'along while I'm Doin' the Old Dog Walk...

This is almost like a song lyrics. When you turn on the radio and listen to the beat and watch how the people in the street walk...and yes, you can actually see that everyone walks with a beat.
