My sweetie recently posted a poem titled LISTENING TO YOU SLEEP. She is much sweeter than I.... This is my response.

Poem Artwork

MY LOVE MACHINE

You touch my hand,
breathe into my ear
then brush your lips to mine,,,,

making me long for more.

We tangle tongues,
my heartbeat quickens
and suddenly it’s very warm,,,,

breathing becomes a chore.

The lights are low
and the briefest of eye contact
sends sensual messages,,,,

impossible to ignore.

Our bodies mesh,
moments pass,
hours maybe,,,,

no one is keeping score.

We spoon awhile,
I start to smile,
it gets no better than this,,,,

....then I hear you snore.

MY LOVE MACHINE
How true are your words.
And as I get older, I snore a bit sooner,
And without Viagra, I go to sleep.

LOL! That last line is a killer!

I love the way you seduce the reader with romantic allusions through each verse toward the humorous conclusion.

Nicely done, Dick.

Perhaps the snore is the best part of all for it brings lovers closer together in humanity and humility.
