FINALLY..... WE'RE BACK!!!!

This is the poem I wrote for my sweetie this past Valentine’s day. We just returned from a 21 day road trip and I have to say I’m ever so thankful that she chooses to spend her time with me. I simply could not have handled this trip on my own. She makes every single day more enjoyable.

 

 
 
FEBRUARY 14TH
(My Valentine)

You’re my sunshine, on a cloudy day,
you’ve fertilized my soul.
You’ve given meaning to my life,
you’ve made my passion grow.
 
You’re the match that lights my fire,
the reason I no longer pout
and when I get hot under the collar,
you’re the calm that puts it out.
 
You’re the fruit that feeds my passion,
the fuel that makes me go,
my elevator from the depths,
the prize at the end of my rainbow.
 
You’re my reason to go on,
the light at the end of my tunnel.
You’re everything to me,
yet you remain so humble.
 
Life without you baby,
I can no longer envision.
So, about those commitment rings,
at last, I’ve made a decision.
 
You know I love you baby,
something I try to often mention.
What better day than Valentines,
to declare our future intention.
 
You’ve given meaning to my life,
you’ve made my passion grow
You’re my sunshine, on a cloudy day,
you’ve fertilized my soul..

What a beautiful way to say I love you to that special lady. She clearly was worth the 20 year wait. It's so wonderful to see that love can be lovlier even in our golden years, whether it's a new love or a renewed old one.

so glad you and sweetie are back...missed you. hey! this has been nearly 6 months...so do we now have 'mrs.' sweetie king?...actually this says we DO...formal or not. the committed love shines through every beatiful line of this...lucky sweetie...lucky you...p

What an lovely, expressive poem to tell the one you love just how you feel about her, any woman would be thrilled to receive these words. Lyrical words of love, it doesn't get any better than this. A sweet write, Dick. I've missed you, glad to hear you're back home.
