Poem Artwork

Trying to write poems,
short verse charms,
or word war storms.
To write or not too write,
maybe do nothing but live in fright.
Trying to express,
put words together in dress.

Sometimes I wonder why,
drop the pen and defy?
Who wants to be under
the spot light,
at times this is no delight.
More or less like self abuse,
oh, what's the freaking use.

Still there's an attraction,
but not much fortune
of satisfaction.
The pie in the sky pros,
many times turn up their nose.
What does this amatuer
think he's doing,
certainly not anything
worth reviewing?

Hi Grady, I'm doing fine. Your poem expresses my feeling exactly. It's next to impossibe to become an established author. I'm working on my third book, but I don't have any high hopes. The thing is not to write for approval or reward. Write because you love doing it and because it comes from your soul. Happy Easter.

Grady
there is always something to write about
I do about my dry spells
at times when i think the ink of my plume is drying
I write about it and it works it's own kinks out
less parking tickets and more writing.....lol.. long lost jargon
10/4?

I agree with Sue :-) Being a writer can be frustrating, can't it? Great capture of this part of writing.
