Dictionary meaning of "TRITE," is tired or timeworn. On the flip side it had a meaning of being "conservative," which I'm definitely not. The reviewer definitely didn't mean to use this meaning. Combined with the rest of his words, "TRITE," was meant to be a slick cheap shot. Here's what anyone reviewing my work should understand, I could give a ratz azz about how they feel about what I do. Trite, slight, wrong, or right I have always continued on and always will, because it all gives me a thrill. Anyway no one could be as bad as my own family. Yesterday my own jealous brother just told me how trite my book was. I told him the same thing, tell someone who gives a phuck. As trite as it is, someone saw beyond this and put it in three libraries. So be it.
Someone who hasn't wrote five poems
accused my work of being trite.
Well I'm afraid the reviewer was right.
Trite is such a sneaky little word,
I've very seldom used it or heard.
I found it to be a very good cheap shot,
hidden in a sneaky jealous plot.
Me, I can face up,
even to a reviewer that is corrupt.
I can face my own simple verse,
my own simpe verse can face me.
Which is easy for us both to do,
since we're one of the same too.
My feelings done been hurt so much,
I know I'm a little out of touch.
Out of my eight or so years of writing,
I've experienced quite abit of fighting.
It's mostly always the same,
when it comes to this writing game.
What can I say,
other than no mother sucker can
stop my play.
Might as well start clapping,
because it won't happen.
My husband and you have alot in common, "tell it like it is!" Sometimes, I have to scold him for his mouth too...lol, but in essense, its what the world especially needs today! Upfront and visible...the beatings around the bushes, balded them silly and exposed them naked...Now, there's some real trite on their parts!
Rise above the trite and pray they do!

I learned a long time ago, 'consider the source.' You keep writing what's on your heart. Many of us think differently. EXCEPTIONAL is the word I choose for your works.
You are NOT trite, my dear man! You write it like it is: raw, bareboned, in your face reality! We need that today! And they don't know any better! You keep on writing for YOU, don't worry about what others may say or think! I happen to LOVE how you write, so THERE! Neener, neener, neener!! Very well penned, bravo!
