Poets write verse, or does the verse write the poet. The more I verse on love, the less I hate. The more I verse about understanding the more patience I get. At times I feel like I'm not the poet, but the page. The page being programed from beyond.
Oh Lord
I'm on this board
I don't swing a sword
all I swing is my word
I care nothing about
being heard
but word takes vision
after its submission So I wonder about
my mission
I do not care
I'm on a mission to nowhere
I'm already there
I have arrived
a long time survived
each day I'm revived
maybe I'm jived
Fooled by the dictionary
definition
I have my suspicion
What I know is true
not even Your holiness you
Everyday I think this through
but I do believe
in this world that decieve
One thing is for sure
my verse helps me relieve
or am I relieving my verse
for better and not worse
A good quarter of my poetry is about poetic process. I still know little about it. I know only that when I see a poem I must write it Often I can do little else until I do ..

I have never heard it expressed that way before, but that is the essence of a poet. The muse is the poet, you are the pen, and we readers appreciate you both :-)
