A time of sadness everlasting,
Effected not by fate or chance.
Eternal sorrow marks your passing;
All things in life did you enhance.

The birds still sing at dawn of spring,
The same eternal melody.
It's lost the gladness you did bring
When you added your harmony.

The sky is blue, the grass is green,
As always were and e'er will be.
Those wonders never more are seen,
'cause you can't point them out to me.

I now and then remember when
Our futures ran together.
Life might go on for other men,
But I'll lament forever.
