Poem Artwork

The flowers that once detained me

                    where the fragrant wreaths charmed

                    young life like children's play

Were they but the fancied dreams

round the couch where tender hearts

                   repose

Only pictured veils that brightly cover

with their skyey tints a world of sweetness

                   in her deepest core

Thou her eyes may never meet him more

there are hopes that like enchantment

of the heart, even hope may vanish

                   Forever memory with her visions

will remain when joys that might

                   have been...and her eyes  lighten

Lovely and compelling are your verses, Mary Ann; some memories are infinite treasures - lights that never go out. Love and best wishes to you,

Lady Mary Ann,
Your lady's touch of a
remembrance reaches many
of a wounded heart with
a delicacy that it deserves!

Wow...

Forever memory with her visions
will remain when joys that might
have been...and her eyes lighten

This is a heart-breaker cliff hanger poetic love story.
Very well done!

Peace and love,

The beauty of your poem's, Mary Ann,
that your are able to share what
it is you want to express, and others
understand it the way you wanted
it to be understood.
Awe inspiring experience.

The picture I think sets the mood for this enchanting but sad remembrance that should be stored away but never forgotten.

Sometimes "what might have been" is all we have. Thinking back and remembering is a sweet-sour kind of memory . . . Beautiful, sad poetry, Mary Ann . . .
