Winter has settled within my bones,

taking quarter of the hollow

left from this marrow chill,

it's walls painted with sanguine and sallow

.

I feast upon the blood in your words,

here, for flesh and breath sustain first

and foremost all that is best and worst

in this night settling empty in my thirst

.

I desire the darkness, and the flame,

for my yearning speaks of wonder as it wanes,

amidst the stuffed out cigarettes, scribbled panes

of glass empty at long last, free from the libations insane

.

Alright, I'm ready
