They boarded on a flight With trust, with hope, with life May the families and loved ones of these people Somehow come to forgive these outrageous crimes
I don't like to think of it as a crime. Rather, it was an unfortunate accident that occurs in war. They call it "collateral damage" now. The crime is not admitting the mistake in trying to hide the evidence, and not allowing the bodies to be returned immediately. Worse of all, was the pillaging of the victim's personal belongings by the residents of the area who were not necessarily those who accidentally shot down the plane, thinking that it was military. I'm not condoning war. I hate war. But anyone who ventures near a war zone can become a victim.
In the larger picture and the roulette of life, those passengers were more likely to die in an automobile accident many times over, than to die in a passenger plane shot down. One needs to keep one's perspective when viewing sensational news. That does not lessen the hurt for the families of the victims, just as someone killed by drunk driver feels.
We are all going to die. I would much rather die like my sister-in-law recently, in a freak accident, instantly, rather than die after a long and painful illness.
Forgiveness is the ultimate response. It denies the perpetrators from making families their victims. But it takes a tremendous amount of courage and love.
I've predicted the plane landed somewhere, and the passengers were taken hostage by the terrorists, but I have not predicted that the plane was being shot down. The passengers on board must have gone through hell for a few hours straight. I feel sorry for them and their relatives.
