Memories of the Beach ...

I'm sitting in a hammock now.
I realize it's been two years.
Maybe I am smelling the ocean
again.
Maybe the air is carrying the sea
again.
I only know I am lost
in an unfair twilight.
There is no night,
no day,
only the memory of june
rich in you,
and amazingly,
singularly,
everything I dreamt it of being.
But time will always slip by.
As it does,
as it did.
As I wish it would never do.
