Ice Storm

A storm is brewing
A winter advisory
Warning precautions
A mixture of warm and cold air

Blue skies white clouds
Being swallowed by huge grey clouds
Winds picking up 35 to 45 miles per hour
A chilling rain turns into ice

Nothing is moving as conditions worsen
A natural disaster before your eyes
Four inches of layering ice
Power lines, towers, small bridges down

Vehicles, homes and buildings buried with ice
No heat, no water, no telephones to use
People suffering from hypothermia
Burried alive as time moves on

Sounds like the ice storm we had Christmas day of 2000. We were without power for 3 weeks. Horrible memories.....but a wonderful write!

Brrrr. You bring back memories of my Wisconsin childhood, Nancy. Been through a few of these, and it is a terrible natural disaster when you are in the middle of such a storm! Great write! Poor people...
