SONG OF THE SWORD

Sword upon the tip of tongue
Dagger scores the mind
Thorns to guard the tender rose
As soft and harsh entwine

Pearls are born of irritants
A masterpiece from sand
Judge not the source of blessings
Or try to understand

Without the wild tempest
The breeze would not impress
If not for heartaches and the like
Our hearts would never quest

If not for being lost
New paths would not be found
If not for tears, the soul sing
Without the joyful sound

I knew I was gonna fall in love with this just from the title alone... then the visual... then the form... all setting the stage for your delicious words that are like a healing salve - or even salt applied straight to the wound. Your poetic Sword is an Excalibur, Darlin, and conjures always such soul-stirring mystery as well as simultaneously exposing so much tender and life-giving truth. Like the precious incense of hallowed ground is this. A song of holy places. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx

Thank you for reminding me that without the harsh or darker side to all things we would not be able to truly appreciate the beauty in the good. The graphic also really complements your theme here - super stuff! love Panda :)

Profoundly mystical, insightfully wise, and soufully healing. Exceptionally satisfying work.

Truer words cannot be expressed to capture the roller coaster world that we all struggle and work to survive, between the teardrops and the smiles.

Beautiful poetic offering, Anita. You just keep getting better and better. There certainly is ying and yang in all things in life and one cannot exist without the other. Gorgeous photo for your graphic, too.

Take care,

Sherry

How right you are Anita, good things come to us through hard ships. Only evil is easy. Great poem. Victor

Gosh ALice ...

This flowed so easily and the thoughts were superb. You really are on a very cool roll lately.

Love the image - looks like light sabers.

The soul song is the message of honesty from our hearts. Some pay attention and some bide theur time questing for more and get lost. You have a spirit that enriches us all through your wise pens. Never stop please, because I'm listening.
Love,
Susan

As one who was truly lost a few times in my life, I believe this to be very true, and another profound poem, Queenie.

Anita

Your mystical and intuitive side is well defined in this analytical and sensitive pen..

It is only when we have been around the block a few times, that we can really discern the Unseen..
