What You Once Passed On By

Have you ever stopped to hear the sounds
Rising sweetly from the ground
Have you ever looked beyond your feet
Inhaling music soft and sweet

Have you ever stopped to realize
That we can see....beyond the eye
For seasons breathe as layered gifts
Exhaled upon the breeze to drift

Have you ever touched, and really felt
A petal, or the snowflakes melt
Have you ever seen that rainbow thread
Embroidered on the heaven's spread

Have you ever stopped to wonder why
We walk this earth, and breathe this sky
Why the gift of harvest, fills our needs
Why we drink from lake, but not from sea

Have you ever stopped, to realize
It's there for us as equal prize
Sight is varied by each soul
Vision comes....by half and whole

Have you ever stopped, and realized
There's  SO  much more than meets the eye
Eventually I think you'll see
What you once....

This was almost like a call to engage ones heightened senses to the world around us. Beautiful Alice. You tapped into wonderland for this creation.

Anita, you bring a new light into our vision with this beauty. Making sure we don't "pass on by" what's there for us to see if we only take our eyes off ourselves. Very creative pic to match poem;-)

All the time Anita, we see what we want to see and create our own reality...oop's got all poetic then lol. This is a little beauty that flows like a river of liquid diamonds.

Oh! your cheque's in the post by the way lol.

I'm very glad that I didn't pass by this poem, without reading it, and enjoying it very much - and what a graphic!

There are so many wonders of the world for us to feel, smell, see, and explore. This is EXCELLENT write, Anita!

Sets the mind racing. Smells as well as sights trigger memories. I love the smell of burning grass fields. It takes me back to my childhood when we used to set fire to the farmer's field after he'd cleared away all the bales of hay leaving the stubble. As we walk through life we tend to feed the physical and emotional senses, but neglect the spiritual wherein dwells higher sensitivity for all the hidden beauty that surrounds us. Gorgeous illustration, complements the inspiring piece.

Visually effective and touching write that all poets can so strive to compare to when it comes to works of nature and God's beauty here on earth. This is so publishable just as it is, it lacks nothing and as Joselyn suggested a classical beauty. Well done Anita.

I concur with Leigh's astute and shrewd comments below...
Being a Son of the Soil, I admire your affinity for plants, trees and shrubs, and the Fourth Dimension...
And I love the Amaryllis and Belladona Lily graphic..
