If you wish to forget anything on the spot, make a note that this thing is to be remembered.  ~Edgar Allan Poe

UPON THE MOUND

Do you know what's underneath me
Whats underneath my mind
I've forgotten how to look
Afraid of what I'd find

I've lived a hundred winters
And skipped a hundred falls
My spirit's in an ice cave
Trapped beneath the thaw

Do you know what's underneath me
It's everything I've saved
And now I stand upon a mound
That some might call a grave

Adios To Ghosts!

Somber reflections Tania, and yet sometimes there are good reason to bury thing deep, and hope they don't thaw, the wrotten flesh, the smell, your friends holding their noses, you know what I mean. A good, well worded lingering thought! Blessings! Jasmin Horst

Trapped beneath the thaw...that some might call a grave?

Temporarily trapped for sure until fully thawed. Don't want the ice to melt do we? Best if the ground stayed frozen; don't want to have all that is hidden beneath unleashed and exposed naked for all to gawp at? Nah! Such nakedness of mind and soul is a frightening thought indeed.

Yeah, let's call this mound of memories and experiences - at least the negative ones - a grave, a fathomless one, sealed permanently.

Evocative words, hen.

I've wondered where you disappeared to, Queenie - and now, I know!

Truly unique and that is a rarity. I loved the "lightness" of the gothic . . . And yes, there is such a thing . . . You just proved it . . .
