THIS IS ONLY A FRACTION OF THE TURMOIL THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON IN MY LIFE THESE PAST MONTHS ...THE UNIVERSE NEEDS TO CUT ME A BREAK ...ok I AM FEELING SORRY FOR ME! lol

Poem Artwork

MAMA NEEDS A RABIE SHOT
(I think I am ranting here)

I've always loved my canine friends, and treasured their devotion
But my dog pushed me to the limits, and caused a big commotion!!
His killer instincts came full force on one unlucky groundhog
They had a rumble, and a tumble and rolled around like two logs

Stupid me, Lady Fix-it, ran to break them up
They battled like two warriors, this marmot and my pup
My backyard looked like Wild Kingdom!!! Oh help me Marlin Perkins!!!
The groundhog fought for its survival.....as my dog fought to win

Five minutes felt like an hour, it was over very fast
I screamed and cried at my dog, as they fought in the grass
With luck the ground hog got away, and ran beneath my shed
And I knelt down to check my dog, to see if he had bled

Ok
No blood to be seen, but he was soaking wet
So just to play it safe, I quickly called the vet
He will need a booster shot, but hose him down good first
And then I felt my heart go still....when he told me the worst

Umm
Do you have open scratches on your hands or arms
Did you touch the saliva......because it will cause you harm!!!
Now I just got a baby pup, who uses me to teethe
My arms are full of scratches!!!....Great what more do I need!?!?!?!?

Dropped Sh*thead at the vet, and drove to the ER
They said I needed Rabie Shots.....and did I feel bizarre????
I sat there for FOUR hours, waiting to be seen
They asked the standard questions and kept it all routine(meaning they ignored me)

Things have not been good for me.. these past months have been crap
Part of me was crying, scared, but part of me just laughed
Mama's getting rabie shots!!! Ohhhhh life can be a bitch!!!
At least I'm still above the ground....and not lying in a ditch!!!

I got six shots last night, and am scheduled for 6 more
If it keeps me from foaming at the mouth, who cares if I'm all sore!
This is one minor chapter of the story of my life
So when I'm old and reminisce.....I hope I get it right!!!

When I was 48, I had rabies, no a baby???
Now wait...how many kids did I have?
I had some kids, I had some dogs
Did I have a pet ground hog?
Did I bite my dog, did he bite me?
Did I have fleas, and did I wheeze?
(I also have bronchitus at the moment)
There's just so much that I cannot remember!!!
Hello to you....oh who are you?
Oh I know!!!
Your finally here to give me my rabie shot!!!!

I HATE THE EMERGENCY ROOM!!!

I asked God....Lord how much more
Will I have to endure?
This morning he answered me..........
I was hit in the nose by a metal door
I think I have to go back to the ER for x-rays
What a day!

My daughter said, Mom write a poem about all this and you will laugh

She is my rainbow!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Poor mama! Damned dog anyway! Emergency rooms---blaaaaaaaaaaa! I hate um too! THIS was very good for fighting with that ground hog....and dog. You have guts, I would have stood there and screamed like a girl and cursed the dog and called the cops like I don't have brown hair--lol!!! You are a brave arse woman! There is NO WAY---NONE, I would have been getting in the middle. Uuuuh, uuh! But at least he's alive and rabid! Bless your heart! Your baby was right...I'm glad you shared. Moral of the story--let your dog eat the hell out of it! LOL

Thank You,
Teresa Emilie

I will not say better you than me...I wish you did not have to go through this at all. The cost of love and wanting to do the right thing is always high. Hope things get better from this point on for you, Anita.

Lady A! Just the needle would frighten me to amnesia! A friend of mine had to get those shots, too, and they are not fun. Keep your sense of humor, please! It will give you a higher pain tolerance... smiles.. get well and stay strong....
