Echoes of Life

A poem expressing the echoes of our past and how these things can serve to shape our future, if we allow them.

Poem Artwork

An echo rests upon the wind
Speaking of love and light
And all the things that we defend
As day turns into night
It ricochets over the trees
And ‘cross the hills of green
With such precision, grace, and ease
To mark the days we’ve seen.

The echo resonates from youth
When simple treasures reigned
And fills our hearts with lasting truth
Much like what was ingrained
When we, as children, learned of life
With all its highs and lows
Finding our way through stress and strife
When darker days arose.

While in memory of childhood years
The echo tells of hope
Allowing us to cease our fears
And find the will to cope
For when we search inside our souls
Our destiny is pinned
By the resolve to reach our goals
Through echoes on the wind.

If we would learn to remember the lessons we have learned, our days and future days would be a lot smoother and happier. Great message, Jill. Excellent rhyme and meter.
Take care,
Sherry
