Remember me when I am gone
Please hold my memory near
The roads I’ve traveled have been long
Yet, ones that I’ve held dear
I’ve flown away to set my sights
On the beauty above
So, when you think of me tonight
Remember me with love.

 

Remember me when I have passed
Please keep my spirit close
The days we shared and dreams we cast
Are those I’ll miss the most
I’ll look upon the world and smile
For all the joys we knew
So if for just a little while
Remember me with you.

 

Remember me when I have left
Please hold onto my heart
So when the hours seem bereft
We won’t be far apart
From high above the skies of blue
I’ll look to earth and see
Each of the blessings that I knew
When you remember me.

We all need to know that these years we have lived and toiled and loved and all that in this old world has meant "something" to "somebody." Therefore we write poetry about just that. I do it. You do it. They do it. Otherwise, everything seems so very wasted if no one can recall our presence upon earth. Good write.
