Lord, in your wisdom and your grace
Please let the oceans rest
Leave not one single soul displaced
By the end of this test
Please keep the Gulf Coast, high and dry
And spare the others, too
So all may bask beneath a sky
Of brilliant, crystal blue.

Lord, let the winds be calm and light
With no oppressive force
Devoid this world the saddened plight
Of nature’s brutal course
Please guide the seas by your own hand
Should trouble start to brew
And lead each storm away from land
‘Til this season is through.

Lord, in your mercy and your way
Please bless us in this time
With strength to face each coming day
Should there be hills to climb
Please keep the souls of all mankind
Held safely in your care
So no one shall be left behind –
This is my humble prayer.

I join you in the prayer. May He hear our words...and protect the Gulf States. They need a break...

Amen to that, Jill! I wonder if all the children displaced last year have been reunited with their families or if many are still in foster care wondering what happened to their life, their siblings and their parents. Nature is a force to be reckoned with, that is for sure.
Take care,
Sherry

This was most excellent and of course timely as we, as a country, prepare to endure more of natures wrath, or, hopefully, the lack thereof!

As always, with your creations, I recall Emily Dickenson and feel blessed.

You have a unique voice Jill, one I enjoy!

Warm Regards
Richard
