I took a walk upon the beach
One Father’s Day at dawn
The sky above, a shade of peach
The sand tinted in fawn
Remembering the days we spent
When health and life were well
Much simpler times, but still they meant
More than mere words can tell.

I paused a moment at the pier
Where many summer nights
The ocean sounds were all we’d hear
But still, that was all right
We spent the hours, side by side
Bound by respect and peace
Each fishing trip brought me great pride
Whose memories shall ne’er cease.

I took a walk upon the beach
And wished that you were there
Beneath the sunrise, etched in peach
Without your old wheelchair
You are my light, when skies are gray -
All that goodness unfurls
Best wishes, Dad, this Father’s Day
Much Love, your little girl.
