Her Heart

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A fictional glimpse into the heart and life of a female writer.

Poem Artwork

Her heart beats in three-quarter time
Pounding a special song
Whose melody is filled with rhyme
She has known all along
Her meaning streams beyond the prose
She chooses to define
And rests within the souls of those
Hooked by her every line.

Her heart beholds a sacred spark
A gift, given at birth
A chance for her to leave her mark
Upon those, here on earth
Her talent may not bring great wealth
But when her life has passed
She will have given of herself
A blessing, made to last.

Her heart beats in three-quarter time
But, bleeds for only one
A man who clings to every rhyme
She shares when day is done
The one whose hand could calm the sea
Whose smile glows through the dim
The answer to her destiny
Lives in her love for him.

This is a beautiful, touching, inspiring, awesome write. Maybe fictitious, but such words are meant for a melody over & over again. Inspiring indeed! Thank You!
