Poem Artwork

My friend, I write this letter
Before I pause to rest
To say my life is better
Thanks to the times you’ve blessed
You’ve taught me to be modest
You’ve shown me how to live
You’ve been forthright and honest
In the support you give.

You’ve helped me to find meaning
When sense seemed far from view
I’ve found hope through the gleaning
Of what I’ve learned from you
You’ve offered me your shoulder
You’ve never let me fall
I know, should life turn colder
You’ll lead me, through it all.

My friend, no words I tender
Could be enough to show
The gratitude I render
To the kind heart I know
The one who always listens
The one who’ll always care –
My friend, your spirit glistens
With so much love to share.

My friend, I write this letter
Before I go to sleep
To say my life is better
For the true bonds we keep
Here’s to the years we’ve treasured
Here’s to the days ahead
You’ve made each moment pleasured
Thanks; now, I’ll go to bed.

It's good to go to bed with thoughts of friends... so many can't or don't.

As always Jill your sweet childlike innocence and loving heart flows out of this poem in waves and I can truly picture you there tucked into your little bed in your fuzzy flannels drifting off to sleep comforted by the fact that you are loved and love in return. well done.
