A Literary Man

Poem Artwork

This gentleman is one of the greatest authors

In the world’s literature who writes

Simply because he has his narrative to tell

And because he was born a literary man.

Mother Nature and happy circumstances

Seem to have some time placed him

In the fabulously luxurious conditions

And favourable environment and then

All were blasted before his eyes into the dust

And ashes so that in his old age, as a bankrupt,

In his decrepit house he could recall it

Like an awakened dreamer and, having relived

That dream throughout the depths of his heart,

Fertile imagination and great imagery, he felt

Compelled to put it down as he had relived it,

And we then called it a true literature,

Treating his works loudly as works of art

And masterpieces of all times and nations.

His character-drawing and deep humanity,

His perfect finish of style and his themes

Have entitled him to that, in which

The supernatural is mixed with the real;

His characters are more realistic and definitely

More familiar to us than even our own friends,

And each of them speaks an accent which we

Can easy recognize. And this is because

He has went through vicissitudes of fate

And has what we call “a solid background”

To disclose the truth and open our eyes.

Very well expressed.. As i read through the whole poem, so many people pop in my mind.. And, yes, their pieces are all work of art..
