Poem Artwork

The still mind is like a double-sided mirror

Reflecting simultaneously Heaven above

And Earth beneath -- a round glass of things.

To him who does not dwell in his ego

Things show themselves as they really are.

At that, his movement starts to be

Like that of a vigorous stream; his stillness

Is like that of a mountain peak; his response

Is like that of a secondary echo. His tenuity

Makes him seem to be vanishing altogether.

The still mind is like a clear pool -- the cup

Of endless application; harmonious

In his association with everything around

He counts gain as loss, and does not

Take precedence of others, but follows them

To settle then things as he sees fit.

To those who dwell in their ego, they can't see past their own noses to realize life and all in it is not about them. Fine write!! Good lesson!

Love ya!

A marvelous projection of what we have the potential to be and what we are "in principle", all seen through poetic eyes. Well done. John
