He turned the water into wine
They all rejoiced, and began to dine
The first he did, they said of him
To show the power he had within
What event evoked such wonder
From thence forth for men to ponder
Nothing spectacular the gospel writer wrote
Something near to us and not remote
Our gifts to bring, our hearts to hope
This thing so special it's grandeur rings
What a blessing a wedding brings
For even in this hour removed
So far in time when he had proved
The centuries passed from that faint gleam
The wedding still sacred as it seems
