Why so long I said
As I pondered the continued dread
Surely there's been enough time
To produce this truimph of mine

I thought I was fit
To completely overcome this bit
Of sore aggravation
That troubled my imagination

I said to the Lord, you know I believe
How long does it take for me to receive?
A multitude of victories I have already known
So many times the Lord had shown
My faith was accepted and that which was needed
Manifested soon to confirm what was seeded

But this battle continued for so long within
That I questioned the Lord again and again
Why drag it on so long
I'm doing my best to be strong
I believe you will do it, but why tarry?
While the intensity of the conflict does not vary.

Then a dream came to me in the middle of the night
It calmed my mind and enlightened my sight
An oyster appeared and opened it's shell
My thoughts at first were, O what will this tell

With my mind in a whirl
Questioning what would unfurl
And then I saw it, the beautiful pearl
