A Thing Called Love


Rose pedals laid upon the bed,
upon sheets of satin and lace,
the warm spring night we wed,
filled with happiness and grace.

The years have come and gone,
in the natural passage of time,
some short while others long,
still, I am yours, you are mine.

Lives entangled, as if they were one,
sharing both the happiness and pain,
filled with all the excitement and fun,
within the realm of love’s burning flame.

Children raised, and now, all gone,
cherished moments, never to forget,
memories lived like a beautiful song,
just you and I, without a single regret.

For it is more than just a simple word,
the magical, mystical, thing called love,
the joyful tones of a rare singing bird,
glorious gift, from the heavens above.
