The Wind Cries Your Name!

This is the first poem I wrote after a thirty year Hiatus.

Why, why must my heart be blind?

When beauty is seen, why cannot my heart be full enough?

Why oh my heart must you be so unkind;

Why must you take the mountainous road

and not the easy path?

My eyes have seen

my lips have tasted;

I cannot eat nor breath;

The sun seems to be wasted;

on anything but you.

When I get to that mountain top;

I want to leap-

into the ocean that is you;

Why when I sit next to you can I not

express who I am?

Why must I sit here and pine?

What must I do , how can I know

All that is you?

My heart makes me fear, that I ask too much.

But every inch of my body aches for the touch

of the one who smiles with such great beauty

of the one who laughs with such joy

To hear his voice, to know his truth

You made me know the wind as your caresses;

my clumsy attempts at love are strange.

My attempts at initimacy seem so deranged.

The feeling of the sun on my face, Cries you name so loud.

O thought be banished how can it be;

that one so beautiful, would ever love me?
