This is written for all who have been touched by Alzheimers...

I see the smile upon your face

memories linger then they fade

eyes confined within palaces contained

a tiny glimpse of who you were

wishing you didn't live so far

I try so hard to reach that place

I see the smile upon your face

grabbing your hand I hold you near

choking back tears I'm filled with fear

for you know not who I am

vacant eyes are all we share...

Deeply meaningful, Zenith. There is so much I don't understand and know not what I can do. But you make us think with this write and that is good. Love and peace. Regis

this write is great
I saw this in my mother's eyes
as she looked at me with a smile
and gently saked me,
who am I. ....thanks for sharing

Zenith...this is so profoundly true!
My father died from the results of Alzheimers, complicated
by heart failure. You have made an apt description of this!

Yes very heartbreaking write, ~Z~. I had an old teacher of mine, and friend he was, his son being my best friend also, he contracted Alzheimers as well as parkinsons towards the end of his life...It killed me to see him sick, to realize how intelligent he was not too long ago, just tore me up...I was very close and still am to his family...the last day I saw him alive, he lifted his hand to say, in his own way, that he knew who I was, I cried that day, hardly able to stop myself...A great man, torn down to the bottom, by a terrible disease...thanks for the memories...Peace thru the Write, Ed & Rufuz

Extremely touching write, Zenith. Somehow, deep down inside, I think they still know who cares deeply for them.

Heartbreaking write, Z! Alzheimer's is such a cruel and malicious disease, and I feel for those families who have been touched by its cruelity. They are in my prayers! (I know a lady, Joan, whose mother has it, and I feel for her! Her mother lives in Arizona, and she is NOT doing well; she doesn't know who she is or where she is a lot of the time. So sad!)

((((HUGZ)))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears for those people affected by Alzheimer's and their loved ones <
