Z., how good to find this. a few weeks late, but i'm glad all the same. from one single parent to another, i applaud your attitude and refusal to give credence to the words of those who feel the need to judge. blessings,
Judge not, lest you shall be judged. That's what I think, and carry on with my life. What kills me is the over abundant ignorance of many who think you're not doing anything any other parent doesn't do. Except you do it all alone. And until they understand what it's like to carry it all on one pair of shoulders, and make ends meed on one income, they, whoever they are, have nothing to say. Great poem, glad you wrote it.
I'm reminded of that song, "Climb Every Mountain." I think you have done that. To those who snicker and grin evidently have not met Your FATHER. Let the Big Guy handle it(smile). I enjoyed this write, I've been there as a single mom, too.
