What Will You Choose?

I hear people complaining about the quality of television, music and life in general. When it comes time to speak up or to make necessary changes what will you do?

Poem Artwork

A parade of burden's marches through every town.

Costumed as aches, stress, no smiles just frowns.

Melancholy music drones amplified by screams,

moans and occasional tears begin to flow.

Men and women live for themselves,

self absorbed they hoard their wealth.

Outward images shine with fake facades.

Awards are granted, lining unstable walls.

Liars lie while millions applaud,

standing ovations for evil songs.

Excess in life, numbs moral views.

Most prefer to ignore unpleasant truths.

Children born to roam our earth,

ungrateful parent's ignore their worth.

Every childs heart is pure and true ,

unconditional love given to adults undeserved.

A village is needed to raise a child,

what message is given...

if the village is corrupt with immoral,

sex, drugs and lies.

People complain and shake their heads,

unwilling to give up sin, themselves.

Blessings are something we can all receive,

look at yourself...before you concede.

We live in a world filled with beauty galore.

Be comfortable with yourself, quit searching for more.

Artificial bodies, minds and material wealth untold...

Will not bring you happiness or heal broken souls.

Denial is a big fad if you ask me. People live in denial for their excuse....I'm not perfect, but I own up....

Choosing love and honesty is the best choice. I applaud Clinton for coming clean in confessing his disgraceful behavior and not trying to justify his actions with some psychological explanations. He is a much greater president than Ronald Reagan, who claimed ignorance of the Iran-Contra affair. He is either a moron or a liar--or both. Now that's the real impeachable offense. Thank you. Alex

It's much easier to belly-ache than to stand out and be counted. We all see that change is needed, but from there to acting on it, there's a big gap left open. Thanks for this, Zenith. Well written.

Ahhh yes, Zenith...
If only we would look for the peace and beauty,
there would be little to complain about. Unfortunately,
the hour is too late for that. The world is in the throes
of unplanned obsolescence.

Beautiful prose, though.
