Are We Really Powerless?

So many times we feel powerless

life aches with dreaded despair

tears flow like torrential rain

uncontrollable sobbing

no one cares...

Our world becomes dark and lonely

days scorched by unrelenting pain

nothing seems to matter

wallowing in self pity

incarcerated again...

If we're intent on being losers

how can we ever expect to win

if you choose to help yourself

then others may pitch in

opening closed doors...

Coveting negative thoughts

hoarding hurtful deeds

can only hurt you in the end

leaving you depressed

you won't succeed...

Believe and trust in God

he helps those

who help themselves

hopeless situations

can always be worked out...

The famous Arab poet Al Mutanabi said:
"Time has showered me with trouble until
the arows on my heart have formed a cover,
that now when I am struck with an arrow,
the blade of it strikes into the shaft of another,
Now I live without a care for troubles,
Since I have not profitted by caring."

This is taken from the book: La Tahzan: (Don't be Sad).

Best regards,
Safi

A clear thinking mind would say yes. But a troubled mind cannot always see through the positive aspects of life. Even God to some is an abstraction that is lost in the fog of their minds.

Inspirational and encouraging. The power to be happy, sad or what have you lies in each person's hands.

So true, Zenith: well said, for we are without limits and there is no mountain too high or valley too low-- as long as we cleave to Yeshua. ~~Bonnie Q
