Frozen In Time 

The waterfall had turned to ice

A thick, white surface fell

Over the edge to deepest space

And it was vast - I have to tell

We had been driving in a car

I know not the reason why

Upon a wide and open road

Under a clear blue, cloudless sky

We arrived at the aforesaid edge

And exclaimed in greatest fear

'What perils lie ahead for us

And how did we get here?'

But I remember we had to turn

When rocks had blocked the way

We found ourselves upon this road

For some reason had to stay

When I woke up – thankfully

I was well and quite alive

Either we fell or were rescued

Whatever - we did survive

Now I leave you to ponder

Though I heard no telling voice

I do know that I remember  

We had not been given a choice

I will work it out, in good time, if

That dream's memory should stay

The unconscious mind, always

Communicates in its own way

It tells something about ‘illness’

If it comes from ‘out the blue’

It can change plans, or bring danger

I hope it never happens to you
