In our time,
We loved a world away.
Dreamed of falling stars
Swinging from golden strings
Silver beams of moonlight
Glowed a halo on our meadow bed.
Beautiful were you in your cotton dress
We danced on wings of desire.
What would I do without your heart in mine?
No words can express these serenades
I’d sing with a voice weakened
Without your gentle sigh.
What dreams may come are ours to live
You fall into mine so easily
You bring to view the inspiration
A muse whose love is pure.
You are the songs I sing.
In this our love
Wondrous and bold
You’re a smile in a child’s gleam
No fancy or whim for me
You're my heart’s content
And your kiss still makes me weep.
Our world is a shadow realm
Melting into breaths and sighs
Golden, reflective like the butterfly.
Your wings flutter on my skin
Ever gently kinetic in a sweet caress.
We made ourselves a golden vow
Crossed a bridge of ice and fire
We took wing on a breeze of passion
And lived our dreams in vain.
Still, you turn me on
You set my soul on fire.
Your skin on mine
In our feathered bed
Fervored laughs tickle
Hearty, ageless pleasures
In our time, that was and will be.
You hold my heart's eternal flame
Forever in this life,
Into our eternal dreams.
