 Contrast

Colours flood in those precious little flowers.
Calling my attention wilting and wanting, yet
desert dust sun traffic yelling overpowers.
They bide time, anticipating the showers.

At once, darkened gaze drew down the shades
horizon lighting blades screaming incantation.
In contrast of the bold grayish blue saturation,
vibrance and beauty of all once unseen,
shown vibrantly, powerful, blooming.
sitting there, where she has always been.

 Reviews of "Contrast"
Reviewed by John Herlihy
Reviewed on July 7, 2015
I have checked out your recent poem since you made some comments of my own recent one and thanks. You've got a good idea here and your treatment is interesting and inspiring. Part of what makes a poem good is the shock of the unexpected thought, like a kind of revelation, such as your last line: "Sitting there, where she has always been." But the language of a poem need to be spot on, in terms of enhancing the meaning. For example, not sure about "lighting blades screaming incantation." Overall, a fine effort. John
