Of those among mankind I most admire
Are such who’ve overcome the saddest grief,
And men who pulled themselves out of the mire
After their lives had crashed upon the reef.

A phoenix who has risen from the fire,
A broken heart that’s brave beyond belief,
These are men to whom my soul would aspire.
No matter if of sinners they are chief.

It’s not how many times a man may fail
But how many times he will still assail
Demons who would foil his best intention

The heroes, such as these, who pierce life’s veil,
And by their perseverance shall prevail.
I find these are men of great invention.
