I want to be obedient

No matter what the cost

Show me what path to take, Oh Lord

I know I'll not get lost

Tell me to weep in silence

Prompt me to pray out loud

Donate all I have to the poor

Or shout praises in a crowd

I'll wash in the muddy Jordan

Or dip in a Tennessee creek

Show me what you'd have me do

You'll find me willing and meek

Don't care what the world says about me

I'll follow you to the end

Just tell me how to earn a smile

Want to be considered your friend

Obedience is better than sacrfice

When faith is less than perfection

Hold my hand through these halls of doubt

Guide me in the right direction

I want to be obedient, Lord

Your will I will obey

Thank you for being my Savior

Giving me strength for another day
