For LaBelle Rouge

A dove has flown in, alights
spreads joy and smiles freely
gave her heart in loads of bliss
Her feathers were pulled
when she tried to sing out loud
they plucked her bare

Tears fell, and now  she flies away
to perch upon another stone fence
yet will she be left alone, as she so desires?

Berated for her beauty and grace
she stands alone in her solitary place
fighting for freedom to sing
her sincerest songs
on notes of truth and peace

I shall follow your song,sweet dove
I shall listen for your elegant voice
for my heart will not rest,
lest it is once more touched
by a feather from you adoring plumage
I bow to your graceful exit!
Soar high, sweet dove!
