Who can I help today
By saying that kind word to help them on their way,
Maybe a small act of kindness may brighten up the day,
A fleeting smile is just the thing to dispel a sense of gloom,
Being bright and happy may lighten up a room.

Who may I help today,
By not imposing my opinions on those who do not wish to hear,
By being circumspect, not prattling on, with a voice too loud and clear,
Listening quietly when they speak, taking quiet heed.

Who may I help today,
By being aware of others moods, sensing out their needs,
We do not know the circumstances of someone standing near,
What may be preying on their mind, thoughts that are not too clear,

Trouble may be stalking them, their mind may be in a whirl,
Doubts and fears just spinning around, spelling the end of their world,
Help is not always done by doing actions grand,
It may be just a simple act of holding out a hand,
Letting someone know without a word they have your full support,
Allow them to see it in your eyes, send them just that thought,

Times may come to each of us when we need a friend,
When there seems there’s no solution, troubles never end,
‘Tis then we really need support, from a friend on such a day,
