What A Man Wants For Valentine’s Day

Nice is chocolate candy
But quick is its melting joy
And behind it leaves, calories of many
That will fatten his tummy
Making it less attractive to her

Fragrant are flowers
But daily do they wilt
And soon his air
They will aromatize no more
Leaving him feeling sad

Cool are cards
Displaying words of affection
But soon forgotten are words
Not written by his lover

What he does want
Is for her, to secretly write
Notes of love
All over her body
That are sweeter than candy
More fragrant than flowers
And cooler than cards

And he will use his tongue, as a finger
And braille read her all over

From the small pockets
Behind her ankle bones
To the unseeable nooks and crannies
Inside her button of belly

From the soft rounding
Of her lobes of ear
To the fingernail thin ridges
On the tips of her front teeth

The entirety of her body
His tongue will explore
And find every note of love
She has written

And along the way
A few love-notes of his own
He will write upon her heart

Lady of love
Won't you write for your man
On this day of Valentine's Time
