As I was strolling through
The Egyptian Museum in Cairo,
I came across
A beautiful statue of Queen Nefertiti,
Crafted from painted limestone
And it reminded me,
Of how your queenly beauty
Makes me feel like a king
Whenever I hold you in my arms
My Lady
My Queen
My Egyptian Lover,
With quickness of step
Come pose for your king
Along the shorelines
Of the Mediterranean Sea
Where I shall craft
A one-of-a-kind statue of you.
Only I shall not use painted limestone
For your crown.
Rather, I shall use
1,000 honey brown diamonds
That match the beauty of your eyes
And when the skies over Egypt
Are quiet with sunset,
While bowed on both knees
Before you;
Using the writing system
Of Egyptian hieroglyphics,
I shall write your name
Into the book of endless love,
As my eternal queen

Nefertiti - or Nofretete - is beautiful indeed. How wonderful that you could visit Cairo and become so inspired, dear HH...lovely and romantic, as ever...your poems are always a delight to read, from the cute and sassy in the early days to the richly romantic, beautiful now.
