A couplet poem about a first ever cruise.

Poem Artwork

Booked a cruise with Larry, Sally and Ginger;

turned out to be a real humdinger.

Had lots of fun, took many a picture;

man that ship was a real superstructure.

Thirty-three hundred souls plus crew on board;

elevators were crowded, sometimes with much discord.

Servers working feverishly in the many dining rooms;

workers on a daily basis, cleaning all the staterooms.

Food was scrumptious, nightly shows fantastic;

performers performed tirelessly and were surely enthusiastic.

The value for the money was simply exceptional;

felt like a king, extremely sensational.

Took a leisurely stroll on the promenade;

came back and enjoyed a fine lemonade.

Spent a lot of time on the upper deck;

ocean view marvelous, both fore and quarterdeck.

Booked a cruise with Larry, Sally and Ginger;

Royal Caribbean made me a very happy passenger.

Never got disappointed, never got seasick;

in the air in fact was a little magic.

I did travel on Carnival - not as crowded, spent time at pool mostly, loved listening to the Island Music I call it - Spanish I think it is. Rhythm it's got. Ours with my deceased hubby was worth it, and not expensive, he booked it off a Christian Radio station, I couldn't believe I was going on a cruise, cause when we saw the ships in Bermuda the year before, he said "Don't even think you'll ever get on one of those ship". he fooled me, and changed his mind a year later. Love your writes, I can see the benefit you would be to those prisoners in your prison ministry.

Thanks for your comment Ronald. And yes, I made sure that our dining servers received a good tip. They work tirelessly and I thought of them both during the cruise and afterward.

To think that only a century ago, only the rich good travel like that. The rest were shoved in airless holds in steerage. For the price of a average hotel/motel for the night, one gets complete room and board at the highest level with Las Vegas style entertainment and gambling if you want it. Unfortunately, the help isn't paid that well and has to rely on tips to survive. And the stops in exotic places aren't bad either.

Tied to this electric wheelchair, I've taken four cruises with Royal Caribbean. Simply the best at what they do.

Ron
