The Artist
I paint to try and better understand myself and the world in which I live. To make sense of the insensible, to channel emotions that have nowhere else to go.
My thoughts of loneliness are dispelled by the vast blankness of the canvass. Though with each stroke the boundaries of this blankness becomes diminished, as I paint so I feel I release my thoughts, collate and file my emotions.
My art is my communication, my way of screaming out loud quietly. What lips cannot say, my paintings can and forcefully if needs be. I can be shouted down, ridiculed, put in my place but the fruits of my brushes cannot so easily be quieted.
My anger I can quell, my lust I can satisfy, my hatred I can release safely and my love can bloom spectacularly, emotively and passionately for all to see and interporate.
This painting does not depict the artist at work rather the sum parts of a man released from fear – a free man.
